I have a sick cat. Any help would be nice.?
He has been sick for about a day or two now. He won't really eat, and he won't drink too much. He does go to the bathroom, but it comes in really tiny amounts. He is usually really active and wants to go outside, but he just sleeps now. Also, when I try to pick him up, I can hear him meow like he's in pain. I really don't know what to do, and my parents won't take him to a vet. What should I do remember, vet is not an option Yeah my parents are really dumb people. They just don't believe in taking animals to the vet. I even told them that he may die. I guess there's nothing I can do, besides buy him pills. Animal cruelty is the worst
Needing help for my sick cat?
My cat has been sick since last night. She's vomited about 6 times today, and I'm very worried. I'm wondering if it could be the wet food we temporarily switched to last night? She did eat it sort of fast. But she's also eaten wet food before this time, and no bad reactions with it. Could it be worms, a virus or infection? She hasn't eaten anymore since last night, or drank any water, she has almost no appetite today, that worries me the most. She's laying down right now, and not doing very much, she has almost no energy.. I'll continue to keep a careful eye on her for the rest of the night and if she does any worse I'll take her to the vet immediately. Please share suggestions and tips if you have any for me, thank you.
Found a sick cat? advice?
today my boyfriend and i were driving to a friends out. as we were driving through our neighborhood we saw a black cat in the middle of the road. he wouldnt move as we approached him, so i got out to see if he was ok. i called him over and he walked over to me, so i brought him home and gave him wet cat food and water. his face has crusties on it and he is just skin and bones, we left and came back later tonight and let him out of the dog crate we put him in and he had more energy and was walking around. we gave him a bath and wiped his face off. he has diarrhea, but i thought it might have just been from the wet cat food but he is very sweet. his claws are very long but im afraid to cut them until he gets to a vet. i just want to know if anybody has any advice on what to do for him until i can get him to a vet. also does anybody know about how much it will cost to get him in a vet to get checked out?
Are these worms going to kill my sick cat?
We weren't aware what was wrong with our cat until he vomited up 2 or 3 huge long roundworms today. I immediately researched online for the best dewormer and ordered it online we live in a small town, can't get good meds at the stores here. It will ship in 1 3 days fastest it will ship . My cat won't stop throwing up. He threw up all his food earlier so I took it away from him, and now he's just throwing up any water he drinks. He's throwing up every 2 hours... I don't know what to do It's the middle of winter and paying for heat has drained us of money and savings. We don't have pennies to scrape together to take our cat to the vet. I'm freaking out right now. Is he going to die within 1 3 days while waiting for the meds? He has " roundworms" and their really big. I don't know how to keep my cat hydrated. I called the animal shelter in town and there's nothing they can do either it's just a small volunteer building for strays . I just don't know if my cat will make it. I can't watch him suffer like this... seriously. He's been throwing up for 12 hours now. AAAHHHH I was able to afford meds online because I bought it on amazon with an amazon gift card that was given to me months ago. I called the vet earlier and they need $45 up front which I don't have. I don't know anyone who can lend it either. I've exhausted all options. I just want to know if my cat will survive this.
Really sick cat, or just a little bug?
My cat has obviously been sick the past two days, but with how high vet bills can be we try not to take her in if we're just going to get some anti biotics and that's all that can be done especially since she refuses them . I was just wondering if someone might be able to help me make the decision to or not...She's not having any kind of respiratory problems, but her third eye lid is slightly over her eyes, her hair is a little oilier than usual, she's not really eating but is drinking a little , and very low on energy. We haven't officially been taking her temp, but her ears are just slightly cool, not freezing. She likes to catch me little treats, but sometimes she doesn't wait around for me to find it, and recently she had caught a baby rabbit and ended up eating its head. I'm not sure if this is related, but if it sounds like it could someone let me know? And yes, I love my cat like a child... if she doesn't show any signs of improvement by tomorrow I probably will take her to the vet anyway.
Should I limit how much a sick cat is eating?
Hi there,I adopted a very sweet shelter cat about a week ago. The poor kitty immediately came down with an upper respiratory illness. Two rush visits to the vet and, finally, she seems to be feeling better.I know this question seems odd but she is eating a lot. 4 times a day and probably more if I'd let her.She is still very sick so, of course, I'm thrilled beyond words she has a healthy appetite. Is it okay to keep feeding her as much as she will eat or should I limit her to a normal schedule? Thanks so much
Went on a site for a sick cat vets wanted money when applying almost with card. Why could I not leave ?
When applying almost with my credit card, I changed my mind could not leave the site, so finally had to shut down the computer to get out of it.
Help with sick cat.....?
I took my 6 yr old otherwise healthy cat to the vet a few days ago. He was diagnosed with full swollen anal glands. Some blood work was done and it seems with some meds and a change in diet he will be fine. My question is he has been under my couch for several days...only coming out to eat or use the litter box. He will let me pet him if I reach under the couch and seems to enjoy it but wont come out and just wants to be left alone. I know if I was sick I would want to be left alone too probably but this worries me. Does anyone else have experience with a sick cat pet wanting nothing to do with anyone whatsoever?? He always craves attention but this sitting under the couch ALL DAY has me worried. Thank you.
I have a sick cat, it sleeps too much, drools pools, almost lethargic, looks starvation thin suddenly?
Hi, I have a cat that might be sick but Im not sure whats going on or if its serious. It looks like its having the same symptoms as a rat we caught almost 2 days ago, it the rat was going really slow, less than human pace sort of speed and after we caught it nobody was very keen or squashing it so we put it in a bucket, point is it wouldnt eat, it looked very tired sick and it died soon after. Now the cat, its suddenly very sleepy, more than usual, not active at all, usually shes the keenest of all the cats, shes drooling in her sleep, pools of it. She does drool when you pet her too much while purring, but even then not this much. Can you tell anything please from what I told you? Its probably not much but I'm very worried she might die too and it's Saturday afternoon here, no vet is open..I dont live in a very developed country to have access to such things, if i get the vet to come back to the office it better be dying or something and also im not the responsible adult with money in this situation, my parents are and they have this mentality of " let it run its course, its probably nothing" I dont live in a very developed country to have access to such things, if i get the vet to come back to the office it better be dying or something and also im not the responsible adult with money in this situation, my parents are and they have this mentality of " let it run its course, its probably nothing" I need someone that could possibly help with any knowledge, not people telling me to take her to the vet, at the moment it doesnt look like i get that luxury And I dont live in America, Im from GreeceWell I dont have any friggin money, I was trying to contact the only vet I know responds afterhours and I finally found her and got a prescription, but everyone on the internet is overreacting and everyone in real life around here is doing the opposite and I am not sure what way I should be leaning, especially when at first I had no idea what it could be. If its poisoning its serious if its infection its not, and the cat is not even mine, we barely have enough money to take care of our own, unless the stray is dying I cant go around demanding money and 40m long car rides to find a drug store. this whole overly aggressive and not much information giving except the " go to a vet" is shit, you guys do the opposite of what the site was created.
What should I do about my sick cat?
My 10 year old shorthair has suddenly stopped eating over the past two days. She's also been acting very lethargic. Took her to the vet this morning and they did some blood tests and said liver, kidneys, etc. were fine. Doc also gave a brief oral examination and felt around her body. She prescribed an appetite stimulant and gave us some baby food consistancy food. She eats, but only when we put the food in front of her. Doc has treated our pets before and has done surgery on this cat with great results a few years ago when she ate something she shouldn't have, but I feel like there's something more I should be doing. For people telling me to take her to a vet... please read my whole description first. You will find that I've already been to the vet.
How to relitter box train a 1 year old, sick cat?
I have a 1 year old scat that we adopted from petsmart almost a year ago. for about a month now she has been using our entire house as her personal litter box. My mom took her to the vet two weeks ago and found out that she has had a parasite in her for what the doctor thinks may have been a while now. But she is still making running masses all over the house, and my mom is getting extremely annoyed because it's ventured to the carpeting. She uses basket of clothes to pee in, and any carpeting and any clothes on the floor she does her runny business in. Can we keep her to her litter box alone or no?well, a problem is, is that she rarely plays right now, she doesn't eat nearly as much as she use to. Just last night was the first time in a long time we heard her cry for more food. and she doesn't meet new people she mainly hides right now. we aren't sure if she just waits till it's to late or not. It's getting to bad.sorry, I'm not sure what the vet put her on, but they changed her food. we never changed the kind of litter we use and she has never had a problem with it. we did a few months ago trying an automatic litter box but with two cats, it couldn't handle it and we switched back over and thisis what happened. I also forgot to mention that we have two cats. Mine acts like she's still a kitten yet she is only 2 weeks younger then the one with the problem. sorry, I'm not sure what the vet put her on, but they changed her food. we never changed the kind of litter we use and she has never had a problem with it. we did a few months ago trying an automatic litter box but with two cats, it couldn't handle it and we switched back over and thisis what happened. The humane society always fixes their animals before letting them go. Atleast around here they do. We do have a large crate around our house somewhere.
What are natural ways to rid a very sick cat from fleas, as well as get them out of the house?
I work for a family with a sick cat...the litter box smell is just unbearable...?
No matter what type of litter is used, nothing can combat with the extreme bad odor. What can be used to get rid of this awful stinch? Unfortunately, getting rid of the cat is not an option, although it should be.The family has already taken the cat to the vet & is already aware of its illness. I don't think it's curable & they don't want to put it down since it's still functioning & has an appetite. But in my opinion, its just not healthy to have to inhale this terrible smell on a daily basis, not to mention nauseating.
Friends sick cat, please help?
