My siberian cat's coat is changing colors. Why?
He used to be a dark blackish color and recently he has been turning brown on his face and a few tuffs on his back and his belly is becoming a gray or silver. He is 5 and we got him when he was 2.

I have Asthma and my cat allergies range from mild to moderate.Would a siberian cat be good for me?
I have had Asthma ever since I was a little kid and I always wanted a pet and I love animals. So i was researching about hypoallergenic cats and found out about the Siberian cat being hypoallergenic. So due to my allergies ranging from mild to moderate would i be able to handle a Siberian cats.If you are gonna tell me about FE D1 do not because i know what it is.So will I be able to keep a Siberian cat? Also just to tell you guys I really do want a siberian cat for a pet.I don't just want to test my allergies.

Are siberian cats smart good with kids dog cats and other animals?

Is a siberian cat expensive? And for how much?
My mum and dad and me want to get a cat, but my dad is allergic to pet hairs. It's not all cats and dogs, just some. So we were thinking about getting a siberian kitten, but they are very rare to get hold of and i heard they are expensive. Do we actually need a special cat like this? Or can we just get a normal one

Can a siberian cat get along with a persian cat because I am thinking of buying siberian cat n I have persian?

What is a good name for a female siberian cat?
I am getting one soon.

Will siberian cats hunt?
I want a cat and my dad would love it if it killed the rats in our yard, however my dad is allergic, I know they aren't completely hypoallergenic... my main concern is if they make good hunters

I live in Lexington, SC..does anyone know of a good veterinarian for siberian cats?

Siberian cat rescue in California?
My birthday is coming up and my mom said if I could find a cat rescue place, I could get one. But it has to be a Siberian since my mom is mildly allergic to cats and I hear the Siberian is naturally hypoallergenic. We also have a small 5 year old Chihuahua female , who is the spoiled little queen of the house in fact, she's on my lap now . I'm assuming that won't be a problem though since the Siberian goes well with dogs the dog is so small the cat will win any fight, anyway . I live in Cayucos, CA. But I would be willing to travel anywhere in California to get one. I would prefer a kitten, or anything under AT LEAST 2 years.

Is there anyone with a Siberian Cat that is allergic to cats?
I want to know if it is really true that you don't get allergies from them. I know there's no such thing as a 'true 'hypoallergenic'' cat although many people claim they are. Do they shed like a normal cat?

Would my mom be allergic to a hypoallergenic Siberian cat?
My mom is and always has been quite allergic to cats. But then again, she has many sinus issues already so it might just be any furry animal. I heard about the Siberian cat on Cats 101 and it told a story about a guy with horrible allergies to cats but when he got a Siberian, he didn't have any problems with it. My mom and I have been wanting a cat for a long time now but couldn't get one because of her allergies. We've both read a lot about the Siberian. Some sites saying people don't have problems and some saying they do. I guess it might just depend on the person themselves. Anyway, has anyone had this kind of hypoallergenic cat and perhaps didn't have many issues with allergies when they got it? Thank you guys so much for the answers. Before the people who don't know anything about Siberians answer, you should know that Siberians have less Fel D1 than most other cats, and Fel D1 is what people with cat allergies are allergic to. The Fel D1, according to Wikipedia, comes from the cat's saliva, not their dander. And since cats lick themselves, the Fel D1 in their saliva gets onto their fur. Then once they shed all around the house, the saliva on the fur is what makes you sneeze and have allergy problems. Though they say the Siberian has less Fel D1 than just about any other cat and apparently doesn't give people with cat allergies much of a problem.

Is a Siberian cat compatible with my lifestyle?
Hi.I'm an 18 year old student living alone in Los Angeles,CA.I've settled into my apartment and would like to add a furball to the house Growing up my family had dogs. I love them to death but being a student limits my time to give the proper amount of care to a dog. Recently I researched cat breeds and found the Siberian. I read that it is very friendly, independent and has reduced amounts of the allergenic protein cats produce. I have lots of people over who may be allergic, so that quality is extremely convenient. Also, I'd prefer that all my furniture be as hair free as possible. I understand they molt heavily twice a year. In summary, would the Siberian make sense for me if I want a low allergen, shedding and maintainence cat? If not, any suggestions to other breeds would be great

Adult Siberian Cat + three year old Yorkie poo = ?
Our family has always wanted a cat. However my husband has always had terrible allergies. This year my pre teen daughter decided to take it a little further and do research for " hypo allergenic " cats. She found a breed known as the Siberian, that is known to cause less allergies. So, since her birthdays coming up in august, I thought I would look for a nice shelter cat for a birthday present. I found one and tried it out today and I love her. She is very sweet. However my dog has not had experience with cats in the past. And this cat, being a stray, has no history on dogs. Also no history with children. I have no doubt my pre teen daughter will be fine, but with a six year old soon to be seven, and my newly adopted African baby daughter, Afiya, I worry a little. How can I introduce this new cat into my family without it being stressful??The shelter cat is a four year old white Siberian cat, formally a stray.

Will a Siberian Cat fit my lifestyle?
Please answer my question about these beautiful cats 1. How big are they, like are they smaller cats or larger cats, wight and size please?2. Are they good with kids above 10?3. Are they good with small dogs my dog loves cats 4. How vocal are they?5. How much grooming do they need?6. Pros and cons of those gorgeous cat please?7. Do they shed too much, or continuously?8. Are they more tolerable for allergy sufferers?9. What is their temperament like?
