Question about a ragdoll cat and hamster?
I have a male rag doll cat thats very gentle and sweet, and we recently just got a male hamster, we let the cat smell around the cage and he sat there just looking and smelling the hamster while in it's cage, do you think that type of cat wouldn't try to hurt it? of course i would be putting the hamster in a safe place and keep the cat away from it but i'm just wondering. thanks
My boyfriends boss offered to give us her ragdoll cat. He is 4 years old I believe and is in good health. I?
know ragdoll cats are more dog like in the way that they require a lot of attention and get attached to their owners. My concern is that if we do decide to take him will he miss his old owner and not enjoy his company with us...?
Does a part ragdoll cat still limp when you pick it up?

Names for my ragdoll cat?

Do other breeds of cats share the limp carrying characteristic of ragdoll cats?
My cat kind of just lets you do whatever whenever she's being held she just goes limp. It's funny and adorable, which my friend has nicknamed 'carry mode ' but since she's a tortie, I'm just wondering if it's normal for other breeds of cats to share this characteristic as well.Ah, okay. I thought perhaps it might have been bred into her, as she was actually born and raised for in a research lab, but she's 100% Tortie. Or maybe she's just always been used to being handled, I don't know. I was just wondering if this characteristic was unique as a friend of mine told me about ragdolls , I didn't think most cats tend to go slack when you pick them up.
Are ragdoll cats a good breed?
I was thinking of adopting a ragdoll kitten, any thoughts?
Will a ragdoll cat be okay if it is left alone during the day?
my whole family has a pretty busy schedule and we all fell in love with this amazing ragdoll kitten. i searched for more information bout them and i know they are great companions and like to be around people and follow their owners and theyre very social. knowing this, im wondering would they be okay if we left it alone during the day 6 7hours a day ? because obviously theres school, work, etc. but were really looking for a cat like this to come home to every day in the evening. i guess im asking if itll affect the cat if its left alone for that long during the week?we dont have any other pets to keep it company..well besides a guinea pig but i dont think that helps any lol
What are ragdoll cats exactly?

Are Ragdoll cats/kittens hypoallergenic?
I'm trying to convince my parents to let me get a ragdoll kitten. The main reason they don't want one is because they are allergic. I was wondering if they are hypoallergenic? Thanks
Ragdoll Cat Health - Eye Problems?
I have two ragdoll kittens, Meeko and Kimba who are each just about a year old. Since we brought them into our home, it seems that Meeko, the bigger of the two has been having some eye problems. He produces a lot of mucous and when he's been sleeping it seems like the inside of his eyelids are slightly swollen when he wakes up. We got both kittens from a breeder and we contacted her for advice. She explained that it might have something to do with his teething and that we should just be sure to rinse his eyes with a saline rinse about twice a day. We've been very consistent with this but the problem has only gotten slightly better if anything. Is it possible for cats to have allergies to dogs? Because we had, until recently a 14 year old Labrador retriever who we had to put down. Will we see Meeko's eyes improve in the absence of the dog, or is there something else we need to be doing? The breeder we got them from seems to be against us bringing him to the vet just yet.The breeder we got them from is one we, and friends of ours have dealt with in the past. We got our first ragdoll, Dakota from her and she has been very helpful to us and others and has always pointed us in the right direction. There have never been any problems in the past. She is an AFCA registered breeder, not a backyard breeder. And yes, the kittens are a year old, but we got them when they were 5 months and the problem didn't present itself until about three months in after we had introduced them to our dog and they were allowed full roam of our house. After speaking to the breeder and doing the eye rinse twice a day, his eyes DID improve which is why during that period of time we didn't consider a vet visit the treatment was working just not completely. But I'm asking this question now because it seemed like symptoms of allergies which I am not 100% sure cats can have. Please, before you jump down my throat, throughly read my post? Only one of the kittens has this problem,so it's not a contagious infection. The other is perfectly healthy. Also, besides the excess mucous everything else is normal. His eyesight and hearing are fine and he eats and plays just like any other cat.
Gender temperament differences in Ragdoll cats?
Hi, I know that in most cat breeds, there can be quite a difference in the temperaments of male and female cats, and that males can often be more aggressive, dominating and territorial. But I have read many sources about Ragdoll cats and their temperaments, and it seems on a whole that they are more doglike than cat like, sweet and very non aggressive. So, does any one out there breed Ragdolls, or own a male that can vouch for their temperament? I already have one adult crossbreed female cat.
