Are male cats more affectionate?
i am considering buying a adult cat but i was wondering is male more affectionate then females i have grown up with both male and female cats but i do not know which is more loving and playful i would like a cat who likes to sit on laps and likes to play i have had male cats who were lazy so i do not know

My two female cats randomly started attacking my male cat, why?
my 2 female cats had the hairs on their back and tail standing up when i got home and they were just acting weird like scared kinda. and later when i came home i find my one male cat under a bed and he seemed pretty frightened and his ear and nose were scratched, im assuming they got in a fight. now my 2 female cats are just sitting watching the door because i have the male cat in my room and everytime they see eachother they just wanna attack and they start hissing. this has never happened my cats always got along they only play fighted aand chased eachother around. i feel like the male cat is possessed or something... why is this happening Yes all my cats are spayed and my male cat is about 5 and the two females are sisters and about 3 now, could it be territorial? I thought females dont get territorial and why would they raandomly choose now?Yes all my cats are spayed and my male cat is about 5 and the two females are sisters and about 3 now, could it be territorial? Will two male cats get along together?
I have a 5 Year old male cat, un neutered. And I found another male kitten who is probably no more than a month at most. Will they get along together? Will the older one attack? So far I've been keeping them away from each other so I haven't tried anything yet.One scenario is I neuter the little kitten, but will that solve it? Will the older male get along with the little one? Thanks for your time guys Please answer Thanks for your answer But I forgot to add one detail That older cat, I really don't want to neuter it. So will they get along, if the older one is as it is? Thanks Ocimom The old cat is indoors. I live in egypt so yeah I don't know anyone I really trust with my cat, or at least didn't at the time and I simply can't now. He's spraying yes, but we clean it and look after it, and he has NEVER gone out of the house. We have a large balcony so it's outside enough for him.And Now I find the little kitten is about to die at the porch of my house and I can't leave him so yeah a little help would be nice. Mick, I understand but you guys are portraying me as the villain here... I DO NOT LET MY CAT OUTSIDE, the older one at least, and in fact the young kitten I'm taking in is probably due to some other mess up, so I'm not doing this out of greed, I'm happy with the one I have, I don't need another one, I'm doing this out of kindness. Now on the other point, having the old one neutered is very very hard if not impossible now... I mean I swear that other cat has not shown any sort of acceptance to society. Meaning, when I took him in Yes I didn't buy him I found a few rowdy kids on the street were practically playing kickball with that older cat when he was a young kitten So taking him out of the house for ANYTHING can only go bad.If neutering the little one doesn't help I guess I'll give him to a shelter or someone, because I really can't find anyone else for him... Which saddens me a lot,

What age do male cats start spraying?
I believe my cat is almost a year ago. still kitten haft adult cat My cat has not been fix yet so I want to know what age when male cats start spraying?

One of my male cats is mean to my female cat?
I have 4 cats, 3 males and 1 female. One of my male cats is very mean to my female cat. The female joined our family in July, and was the last one in. Everything seemed to be okay with a little bit of fighting between this male and female but recently since Christmas things turned for the worse, something changed or happened. So what we have been doing is keeping the female in 1 room with litter box and food and from time to time the 2 nice males will join her for company. Then we will switch and put the bully male in the room with the litter box and food and again the nice males will join him for company. Don't get me wrong, we give each cat a lot of love and attention, play with each of them with their toys etc... I am not mean to the bully but when we catch him in the act I gently scold him and ask him to be nice to the female someone told me this would work best?? . We are always telling him how handsome he is, but he always gets this mischevious look in his eye when the female is let out of her room supervised because we want to try for them to all get along. The female is so afraid of the male that when he goes close to her she cowers with fear and will try to get away and run and hide under the bed in her safe room. The safe room is our bedroom which is huge with 2 windows and lots of room to play. So each night when we go to bed we have one or the other in the room and also taking turns of letting the other 2 males join so they are not left out. When people talk about pecking order in animals, Mr. Bully is definitely the boss, he will be the one to pick on the other 2 males but they are just a big as him so it doesn't last long. The female unfortunately is very tiny for her age so we thought that is why he is being mean to her. Someone also suggested putting a dab of vanilla on each of the cats so they all smelt the same? I notice that when an episode would happen after he had her cornered and she was cowering but was able to get away, he would smell the area where she was cowering. I checked the area and there was no urine maybe she is giving off a smell?Lastly I don't want to give either of them up, each one of my kitties are special and if it means a lot of work to get them to be happy together or at least civil I will work at it.If anyone as any suggestions or has been in a similar situation, please let me know.I did mention to someone about getting a spray bottle and spraying him with water when he is being mean to her and they said it would be mean to him. I am going to get one today and try it. Like I said we love all of our cats and we want to work this out..thanks All the cats are fixed, and I have a litter box per cat 4 boxes . They are also all indoor cats. I will talk to my vet about the calming spray. I am willing to try anything out at this point. The spraying has been working, we really don't have to spray him all the time because all we do is show him the bottle and he runs. We are still keeping the cats separate when we aren't at home and at night we still keep one or the other in our bedroom with us. The bizarre part is that this all started in December but we have had the female since July and she was fixed in July when we found her. The male has his hiding spot downstairs but the female doesn't venture there unless the male is in the room...but I do remember them sleeping together in the hiding spot. That is why I wonder what happened in December to change their feeling toward each other? The only other thing is we have been feeding a stray male cat outside, he does not come in at all. We have a heated doghouseAll the cats are fixed, and I have a litter box per cat 4 boxes . They are also all indoor cats. I will talk to my vet about the calming spray. Why does my neutered male cat mount only one of my female cats?
I have a neutered male cat, who is nearly a year old, and two female cats who are not spayed that are 11 months old and 6 months old. Ever since they were young kittens, my male cat has been trying to mount the 11 month old female cat. She never lets him and is very much uninterested as she HASN'T yet gone into heat. But he never tries it with the other female cat, or person or piece of furniture as I've heard some male cats do.I'm sure its a dominance thing, but what exactly does that mean?Does that mean that he is dominant and trying to show her that,or does it mean that she is dominant and he's trying to take her down a peg? And where does that place my younger female cat? Its obvious that my male cat loves the young female very much he is not very affectionate with anyone, but when it comes to her he is always grooming and snuggling her.I'm just wondering why he is always harassing the one female and no one else? Other than that they get along perfectly.

My male cats have always sounded congested?
One of my male cats, I've had for about 2 years, and the other I've had for close to 1, but ever since they were little kittens, they've always sounded like they had a stuffy nose. It gets more noticeable at times, but it's persistent, and never really gets much worse or better. My sister said earlier today that when she watches the show hoarders, one of the things they say is that when the cats sounds congested it means they're not healthy. My boys seem really healthy, and they've never acted sick or bothered by the breathing, but I though I should ask. I worry too much sometimes when it comes to my kitties

Name of male cats that start with "m"?
I'm getting a siberian kitten from a breeder, and this little kitten has a M on his forehead, so will you please help me finding names that start with m? Here I leave you some pictures of the kitten.bit.ly xgzXfTbit.ly ABRQmMbit.ly yTcniJThanks.

Do male cats grow bigger if they're not neutered?

How to get my two male cats to stop fighting?
I have cat static and the other is sprint they constantly fight but not play fight like they used to they Are brothers. The mother cat still lives here but I keep he in a seperate room with her 2 kittens and my cat sprint seems to be the dominate one and he spray everywhere none of them are neutrerd would it help what should I do help

My male cat is being a bully?
My male cat is bullying my female cats, but he doesn't bother the other male, he actually could care less. He will attack my female, whom is the sweetest thing. This cat has no claws what so ever it's the way I adopted him but I'm not sure what to do. I feel like he is picking on them, for some reason. I would love to try and stop him if anyone has any ideas. If not I'll probably just have to pass him down to my boyfriend's mother who only has one male cat.

Moving my male cat to a new home.?
I want to move my male cat to my new house. He is currently in a house with 4 other cats, one being another male. He just started spraying and has made me hesitant to move him to my new home. In my new house there are no other animals and nor was there any animals living here before I moved in. Will he continue to spray in a new house or will he stop? I am afraid I don't know how to correct this problem.

Male cat keeps bothering my pregnant cat?
so here's the deal, i have two female cats, and they're sisters. there is a orange cat that used to come to my house and i'm guessing he got one of my cats pregnant. now he's pretty much gone but this other brown cat keeps coming to my house and jumping on my pregnant cat... i threw some mangoes at it but it keeps coming back. surely he doesn't want to mate with my already pregnant cat...? why is it so persistent? it doesn't seem interested in the non pregnant cat... i'm bringing my pregnant cat to the vet tomorrow to check up and bringing the other cat to be neutered spayed...but what's the deal with the brown cat exactly?

How best to keep an adult male cat?
I know they were similar questions like this asked before but their questions are less straight forward and the answers they get are hugely varied and very lengthy. So, here's the deal. I adopted an adult male cat age unknown, but growls at night and he's not neutered yet which had been straying around my apartment for about a year before i adopted him. So, now i moved to a house which has a front yard in Malaysia F.Y.I. . There are several questions arised from here. First, should i neuter him? Second, should i keep him indoor or outdoor? I'm worried he will scratch my sofas he has already damaged quite a few F.Y.I. , will neutering him stop him from this behaviour? Third, if i keep him outdoor, will neutering him put him at a disadvantage while fending for himself from other male adult stray cats around my house? F.Y.I. the area which my house is located at has quite a number of not yet neutered male adult cats. Or will neutering him put him off the target of other male adult stray cats which are fighting for territories? I want him to live a good life and don't want him to suffer any heavy injuries fighting those stray cats though i think he stands quite a high chance of winning fights coz he's quite bulky and those stray cats around my house are quite under fed and under weight, but there might be exceptions . I don't mind he sustain small scratches from fighting but i don't like those wounds that take a long time time to heal or those that really need veterinarian attention. Lastly, if i let him roam freely outdoor which he will definitely go out of my house perimeter coz there are some loopholes which i can't cover , how will he identify this is his " home" ?Background info I have already sent him to the vet for vaccination and deworming. For nutritional info, i can refer to the other postings in this site which have very detailed answers. So, just answer my questions on top straight to the point without touching on vet procedure and feeding info.
