Do older house cats travel well?
We have a beautiful black house cat that I am considering taking on the road with me. I drive a car over 100,000 miles every year and I want the cat to go with me. On a few short trips, I've taken her, but she's hidden behind the seats until I stop and pull her out. Anyone know how likely it is that she becomes comfortable enough to come out and sit on the seat with me? Even better, sit in the back window while I'm rolling down the road? Any help is greatly appreciated

The cat has lived inside all of its life, and while I'm not sure if she had her rabies shot, her mother did. As soon as I was bit, I covered the wound in Betadine, and I am now on antibiotics. I also got a tetanus shot.And like user said, I know it doesn't come out of nowhere. The doctor I went to was very specific as to what rabies does to a human, and it freaked me out.

My female indoor cat is about 10 and a half years old and has no front claws.She HAS NEVER been out in the outside environment for longer than a few minutes when she occasionally runs outside when I open the door. Somehow late on Saturday night 11 26 I'm guessing she escaped when the door was opened, and unfortunately we did not see her. Last saw her that night. She's obviously a house cat, kind of fat, more in the stomach area, and timid when exposed to the outside environment.So my question is Where are possible places to look for my cat? I've left food out on the front porch, and looked around for her everywhere. What are some places she could be hiding. If she got away from home a ways will she know her way back? How long can she survive on her own?Also, she's fixed, female, and the house she is at has only been her home for the last 4 to 5 months. She previously lived about 4 to 5 miles away when my mom took the cat. I'm 15 . Would her instincts tell her to stay at the house she's been at most recently? How long will she be ok for? Also what's the likely hood a cayote attacked her? I'm real worried, I heard people in the neighborhood saying their dogs have been confronted by them.Please help I appreciate this.I live in a townhouse community. It's not very woodsy, but behind my miniature back yard there is a preserve. She has also never snuck off before. She has waddled out onto my porch but I'll always notice her. First creepy noise she hears she runs back inside. Secondly, if she had accidentally gotten outside, and the door was closed later she was locked outside.

You hear of cats eating owners who die from heart attacks and other causes because dead people cannot feed their cats . But will a house cat ever eat some one who is really old and decrepit? Or on a separate note could a house cat kill you if it bit or scratched you in the jugular or other region? more directed towards elderly since their skin is saggy and soft, but anyone too I do not want to know about diseases because that is obvious. I want to know if a cat was pissed enough and was next to your neck could it kill you? My neighbor was attacked on the arm by her cat for no reason and it left 4 large puncture wounds.
Need help with mean house cat.?
We have a cat that we adopted as a kitten that was bottle raised. He is now 2 years old and has developed a mean streak. He is pretty skittish and has hissed growled at people who come over but now he is doing the same to my husband and I. We have tried to be patient but it seems as if he has developed ferrel cat tendencies. We have tried to hold, ignore, play, talk to, etc etc.... but its gotten to the point that nobody can get by without him lashing out? Please help don't want to give him up or have to ....well find other option ?
Places that temporarily houses cats?
An extremely close friend of mine is in a very tight situation right now about her two cats. She is having to move into a place that won't allow cats, and none of her family or friends can foster the cats until things get worked out. I would more than love to help out, but I'm still living with my mother who is against fostering any cats.Is there any place, forums, or websites that can help us find a foster home, or even an organization that willingly houses cats for long periods of time? Any leads on places these two kitties can go would be very much appreciated.
