Question: My cat is scared of pretty much nothing, except mushrooms. is this a normal fear for cats?

I had a cat that was terrified of bananas, never figured out why but they scared the heck out of him. Cats aren't normal, so one being afraid of mushrooms doesn't seem to be abnormal.

It probably have a bad brush with something that smells like that. It triggers the fear reflex. Nothing to worry unless you own a mushroom farm or something.

Its probably the smell that your cat doesnt like. He/ she probably finds it offensive. I wouldnt say its a normal fear for cats. I think animals are like people in the sense that different people/ animals have different fears for different reasons.

Not that I know of, but then again why are girls scared of spiders? :P My male cat hates cockatoos and my dad-especially when he has the waterhose, but when he has the cat brush-he's the favourite person in the house! :) Maybe your cat accidently ate a mushroom one day and hated it to bits?
