Why has my cats behavior changed?
My sister in law got a kitten that was 6 months old from a local shelter.... that was about 6 or so months ago... So he is about a year now. She kept him for about a week and realized that she wouldnt handle him. He was very fiesty and crazy. She was also pretty allergic to him. So we had him for about 6 months without taking him to see her and all that time he was pestering our other cats, pooping on the floor, fighting our other cats and making my life hell. He would attack people too... like attack your feet as you walk past him. But a few days back we took him to visit my sister in law his real owner ... she missed him a lot and he stayed for 2 days. Once we picked him up and brought him back to our home... his personality has changed totally... He doesnt pester or fight the other cats, he eats and drinks the same amounts as before, He lays down more and just stays out of the way. No attacking my feet and hes been using the litter box. Hes been licking the other cats and being way nicer. Its so strange for him. I even picked him up and he rubbed his face on mine and acted so sweet like he loved me. Usually he doesnt want picked up and would swat you with his paw if your face was near him. Is this normal to change so much? Why after his trip? I heard of changing for the worse but not for the better. Could he be sick? He was neutered when he was younger. I would love for him to stay like this... but my husband loves him and if hes sick we gotta help him. Oh yeah I think his tummy is bloated a little but maybe he just ate... not sure. Hes been dewormed and we had him on Revolution. Please help us figure out if this is normal if we should take him to the vet. thanks

What are possible reasons for my cats behavior?
I have an old cat that is around 13 14 yrs old now. can't quite remember when I got him now. Anyway he has started to pee on my sons clothes recently my son Dalton and he has peed and pooped on my son Lar's bed and bedroom for awhile now. Although lately it's getting to be a daily thing as before it was a couple times a wk or so. I read online that maybe it could relate to switching cat litter and thought maybe that was it but he has never acted like this before when we switched and like i said it had been going on for quite some time now and that was after the cat litter was switched. I'm starting to think he may be getting to old, although it seems like it's direct thoughtful behavior not random markings. I would say it's cause cat box isn't always cleaned but he has never really ever had a very clean box especially during my pregnancy since I couldn't change it and the chore was left to my husband and kids which I had to remind over and over again. Needless to say it was only cleaned every couple of days not daily. Now I can change it so it's cleaner. So why does he do this? any Ideas or guesses would be great so I can explore avenues to correct this, as we can't have this behavior going on. He is ruining my son's bed and hate to buy a new one just to have him ruin that one as well. also any idea on how to remove the urine smell from clothes and bedding? sometimes i can still smell it on clothes etc. he is not an attention hog or a unique crazy cat. just chill and friendly cat.

Concerned about my male cats behavior after move?
My husband and I have two cats, a male who is about 3 years old or so and a female who is about 2. We recently moved from PA to CA by car so it was a big change for the male. The car ride was fine bc we gave them some travel calming stuff for anxiety. But the first day ,and at every stop at a hotel after,we stopped at a hotel the male started acting strange around the female, hissing and growling at her. I jus thought the smells of other animals and the stress were why he was doing this so I didn't really worry. We moved into our new place yesterday and he is still acting strange with her. They have always got a long before and play great together. Should I give him the next few days to adjust? Should I seperate them? Can somebody help me out or give me tips on having my cat act like he always did and become comfortable. Thanks

Im worried about my cats behavior!?
She has been hiding all day in the wall i closed it up after i got her out . I let her see her food and she still didnt come out even though she didnt eat this morning. She seems very scared and stares at things that arent there. Her ears are droopy, she isnt purring and making noises like she always does, and her tail is down. She is normally kind of a loner, but at night she mostly plays with my kitten and runs around like a wild animal. This is very unlike her. Its even strange that she isnt trying to bite me when i pet her a lot. Her hair also seems to be falling out too much. This just started today but im very worried for her well being. She has never been all that happy. I got her when she was a year. She spent a year in various shelters and i think she hasnt been really socialized well. but this is still abnormal behavior.

My cats behavior has changed?
My cat has begun wanting in and out of the house about 10 times an hour. She has always come and gone a few times during the day while i am home as usual for cats. Now i can hardly sleep as she claws at the window beside my bed and meows through the glass. I can't sit and watch a movie without getting up many times. Sometimes i ll let her in and she ll come in for a few seconds and when i begin to shut the door she ll run to get out again. Sometimes i open the door or window and she just looks at me and walk away, only to come back to the door and start meowing to be let in a moment later. She is driving me nuts I think she must want attention but i dont think i have been giving her less attention lately, i still pet her and play with her and she sleeps on my bed. What is going on? She is about 10 or 11 years old.

Something that gets me curious about cats behavior?
I notice that my cat kicks free or growls when she gets her medicine from me, but at the vet she stays still? why does this happen she does seem scared for the vet but can sit still for him.

Please explain my cats behaviour?
I have two cats and for several years they have been fine, they have two litters and are both now neutered. A few days ago one of my cats was injured and has become very meek, she has been prescribed pain relief and is on the mend. However my male cat is now also acting very strange and will not go near the female, he is now very shy and will not come near me as well. Anyone understand why this is happening or is it just a result of the injury?

STRANGE cat behavior!?
So me and my fiance got a kitten, she was about 8 months old. At first she was skiddish of us and our 2 chiwawas however you spell it and flat out vicious to my cat. They fought all the time. My cat is really easy going. She eventually warmed up to us and the dogs, would purr and cuddle with me in the morning. But still fought with my cat. Well I found out my cat was pregnant, she gave birth to one dead kitten devastating for me . That same day about a month after we got the kitten my cat kinda forced herself on the kitten, just walked up to her and laid with her despite all the kittens growling and hissing. Every since the they have been inseparable. She even nursing on my cat. I try and stop get but she still does it, and its like 2 or 3 months later now.thats not the strangest part. Now she wants nothing to do with me and my fiance. She acts like a stray, wont let us near her and acts terrified, and it happened like the same time as her and my cat getting along. And when I can get a hold of her she is so tense. She never hurts me, never claws or bites. she is fine with the dogs, its just humans. I'm baffled, I've had many cats over the years, but nothing close to this has happened. I have no clue why she acts like she does with humans. Any ideas?I dont think your understanding. I'm fine with how they act with each other, its cute yes, but what I dont like is that she will have nothing to do with people. She runs before we are within 5 or 10 feet. And acts like she is deathly afraid, and this happened right after the cats got friendly.

How to deter odd cat behavior?
i have a 11year old cat and recently started a new habit of sleeping in the liter box. how do i deter her from doing this?i have 3 other cats and 3 other liter boxes i take her out of her liter box and put her in one of her favorite spots in the house and she makes a bee line right back to the liter box curls up and goes back to sleep

Is there a medical explaination for this cat behavior?
My Mom has had her male cat for about a year now, Recently he started eating everything food in sight. He never used to do it but lately he's been eating through bread bags and eats the bread. He learned how to get the lid off the butter dish and eats the butter. She's always kept a can of bacon grease on the counter in a can and he even started eating that. He even went as far as climbing in the kitchen sink to eat the food bits in the sink strainer He wont stop and is always crying and begging for food. Could there be something medically wrong with him? He's a Siamese and is about 2 years old. She's had him for almost a year now and he just started doing it about a month ago. I suggested to her that there might be something wrong with him and she should take him to the vet, but she seems to think that since he's eating food and not non food items that he's ok. So I was wondering what it could be so I could go back to her with a good reason for her to take him to get some testing done. She also has a female Siamese and she seems fine. Please tell me if I'm wrong, but I always thought if cats share the same litter box and one has worms parasites, then they both would have it.

Bad Cat Behaviour - How can I fix it!!?
They always jump on the table to try and steal human food, Try to steal fish food, Knocks things over, Etc. They are potty trained, so we have no problems on that.We try to train them but they don't do anything without showing them food You can't leave these cats unsupervised Do I just prevent everything? Such as placing a door for the kitchen, Puting the food in box that can be locked, Putting the fish food into a box that they can't get it out of Etc.? What do you think I should do? AndyEdie H Everything else I will put away in a safe place.I've tried a spray bottle for the table thing, they just don't get it and I'm sure the tape thing won't work either because they just keep going and going. That's why I thought of the door idea.Does anyone know how much installing a door will be?I'm thinking of just leaving food out for them now so they won't steal food.

Question about cat behavior...?
My cat was born into a house with dogs and other cats, and the original owners took care to socialize him to people and dogs as well as other cats. When I first got him, there was no dog in the house. Now, I have a roommate with a beagle mix who isn't significantly bigger than the cat. The cat demands attention from the other humans in the house, and occasionally will share the couch with the mutt, but usually responds to the dog with hisses and claws. Why do cats accept humans but not dogs and other animals?

Is this normal cat behavior towards someone they love?
I am 15 and my 2 year old cat loves me to pieces. This morning, my mum said that Gizmo my cat spent 15 minutes meowing at my door and trying to get in while I was asleep. When my mum eventually let her in, I could feel her pawing on my head from under the covers and she was trying to get her nose in under with me. I was too tired so ignored it for about 5 minutes. Then she got comfy on my head and starting purring so I woke up and stroked her. She rolled over and loudly purred all the time and put her paw around my arm.I've had many cats but none of them do this to me and why me? she isn't loving towards the other 6 people in my house. Thanks everyone and Haha yes it is probably because I'm the most generous with her treats

Cat Behaviour Expert Please Help?
I hope you can help me... as I am very sad and don't know what to do with one of my cats....I got 2 kittens females six months ago from the shelter, they are approx seven months old... I love them, they are my babies... one day I was playing with one of them with a little mouse toy and suddenly she scratched my face and ... growled, so without thinking, instinctively right when she did I gave her a tap not hard in her butt and now shes is scared of me and runs away every time my husband and I try to approach her.. she does not play with us like before...she thinks I am going to hit her, which I understand.... She eats treats out of our hands, she lets us pet her sometimes but I can see she is still nervous. I always had disciplined them with a can of coins and a bottle of spray water and always worked. She used to come to me and lay down bedside me so I could scratch her belly.... and I've been missing her badly. My heart is broken and I don't know how to fix that...is there any hope? Will she remember this incident forever?Thank you and I appreciate your advise.
