When I was a child, I remember cutting a few whiskers off my childhood cat and being severely scorned by my mum quite rightly for it.Skip forward a few years, and my cat Gizmo came back from the well known nationwide groomers last night. I've just noticed that he has hardly any whiskers on one side of his face they have been bluntly cut off and there's only two long ish ones left. This could easily be a mistake, but does it hurt him? Should I raise this with them?It's not about the money, but I'd expect him to be looked after for 40. Last time he went there they didn't cut his claws but I didn't say anything.

hes really old, and never leaves the house anymore He just sits around and sleeps, goes to the bathroom, eats, and sleeps some more. Normally i would NEVER cut a cats whiskers, but his are so unruly & long, they're constantly in his eyes, in his vision, and i know it annoys him. Its like having hair in your eyes. I really want to cut them, but i don't know if its okay to do or not. Are whiskers like hair? or do they have nerve endings or something?oh i didn't know that. its just i keep thinking he's suffering, and i don't like it. One curls and sticks right in his eye. I wouldn't cut them off, i'd just trim them. But if its not a good idea, then i won't. If he was a young cat, going out hunting every night, i would never in a million years cut them i have 4 cats in total, 3 are quite young, and would never think about doing that to them , but he usually sleeps in the same area everyday, so i figured he wouldn't really need them as much. But still, i won't do it until i perhaps talk to his vet next time he gets a checkup
