Question: What flooring resists cat urine the best?

I have a cat that occasionally has accidents. The floor ends up stained or deteriorates where he pees. Want to get new flooring. Linoleum and wood are poor choices. What would a better floor product be that would resist the ammonia in the urine better?

Is this person (?) serious??? "get rid off the cat "??? stupid coment but anyways...... um i really dont know bout that but i seen at petsmart some kind of spray that you spray on the floor where the cat has the accident you can try to look for it :-/ sorry.....it wasnt the question but you mite find this useful

A good choice is tile flooring. It's easy to clean up the urine and you can scrub it out of the grout lines without the smell remaining there.

Ceramic Tile or Porcelain tile would probably be your best bet although it may be more expensive then what you were looking to spend. It really depends on what type and style you get and the install. Both ceramic tile and porcelain tile are very durable, solid and easy to clean. Most the time just using a damp cloth will clean up any spills. It also isn't porous so no liquid can work its way into it so the smell will only last until you clean up the mess.
