Making cat toys for shelter- should I bother putting cat nip in them?
They've already OKed the cat nip so policy isn't the issue I've seen plenty of toys made with cat nip inside BUT I was just under the impression that cat nip looses potency quickly... Is there any point in adding cat nip to the stuffing? Should I make a little pocket for it to be replaced whenever?My question more involves the part which said " BUT I was just under the impression that cat nip looses potency quickly... Are the feathers on cat toys dangerous for cat's to eat?
One of my cats, Corona, keeps eating white feathers off of this new toy we got her. It hangs on the knob of our bathroom door. It looks kind of like these petco.com product 114473 KONG Wild Tails Cat Toy.aspx?CoreCat CatSFC Toys But it's a Christmas wreath instead of a ball, and instead of fluff, it's a long string of white feathers. Anyways, whenever I'm in the bathroom and I shut the door, she'll start scratching on the door instead of the toy, so I tell her to get down and she does. But then she'll start scratching the toy, and I'm sure most of you who are reading this know how easily feathers come off of toys like this. She'll rip off one or two of these feathers, and then she'll get down on the ground, sniff them, and start eating them. My mom caught her eating one this morning and I caught her eating one just now. So I just need to know if these feathers can cause any damage to her? I mean, she eats almost anything she finds on our carpet that she thinks smells good, so it's really no surprise she eats these feathers. And I just got her to stop eating the tinsel from our tree. Anyways, any help is always appreciated, didn't really mean for this question to be so long.
