What genetic differences go into the different cat tail sizes between my two Siamese cat brothers?
I have two cats brothers, both Siamese. One has a real long tail, the other an average although a bit on the short side tail. What genetics go into WHY they would both have such different tails? Again I realize it's genetics but was curious as to what the different factors of it are?One is a Lilac Point, the other a Flame Point Siamese fyi... Thanks...No papers they were adoptions from a pet shelter they sure look and act like pure breeds though I grew up with them . If I ever meet the breeder though I will punch their lights out and report them they obviously are totally irresponsible and over breed. They had a birth defect are mostly blind were born WITHOUT eye lids... They're very happy and healthy and active so I am not concerned about it. But this breeder was awful... Again they were just dropped off at the shelter so no idea who did this to them... Was just curious about the tails...
How can i effectively remove cat tails from my pond?
I am looking for an environmentally safe and effective way to remove the cat tails from the ponds on my property. I would like to remove most or all of them as they are overpowering the pond.
So i used little dettol on my cat tail is that bad?
ok so my cat had a fight with some street cat badass eh and his tail around up his butt P was scratched a lot and i thought it might be infected street cat 1 million diseases so i put a little dettol in my hand around a table spoon and rub it on his tail then i showered him i use the whole bathroom for the hid and seek battle shower with him and ofc the dettol mixed with water on the floor i picked him up and dried him a bit ..after 2 mins..i washed his paws and legs and his tail with water after around 2 mins idk if he licked his arms or legs and got some dettol in him ...now is it bad for him and how BAD,cause im not a heartless person but i'm not omg....my cat has a bellyache what do i do he's a cat he can handle him self,and my cat is rugged he's a norwegian forest cat,as a kitten he drank some ground polish i know more badass ,so yeah is he gonna be ok i can smell a scent of dettol or it may be the shampoo so yeah sorry for my bad englishwell R P CAT thanks for answering me,but if i call my 3rd world vet he would probably tell me its ok and then after i hang up he will laugh,now my cat is ok hes eyes are bright he is eating and a bit grumby cause of shower and i only but dettol on his tail and then washed it.idk if he licked it ...is it really that bad hmph...btw IF you knos i know ur not a vet but il take your advice over my vet how long until he starts showing intoxication symptoms ?know
My cat tail is black?
my cats tail is bald and black and cold to the touch. it is the middle section i dont see no cuts oor puss or blood. is it infected i took her to the vet but he never said anything about it of course none of the vets around here seem to know what they are doing

Is my cats tail broken?
My cat feel from a counter in the kitchen today and tried to grab on as he fell but ended up landing on his tail and now near the base of the tail there is a kink and the rest of the tail hangs to the ground. The reason I don't know If it's really broken is because he walks fine and doesn't seem to have any problems and he can move that part of his tail that hangs and if he really tries he can pull that part of his tail up a quarter of the way to standing straight up. Can someone tell me if this is a real break or not?
Is it normal at all for my cats tail to crack like knuckles?
My cat is 8 years old and just recently his tail has started cracking like knuckles. It happens when I pet him and curl his tail around my fingers. It doesn't bother him he would tell me if it did and I am not PULLING on his tail in any harmful way. Mostly just wondering if anyone knows if this is normal or if it happens with your cats? My other cat doesn't have a tail at all manx so I can't really compare and it's not worth a vet visit unless I have cause for concern. Just curious to opinions experiences. Thanks
Is my cats tail broke? Or is it just two knotted up?
Two days ago i gave my tortoiseshell Persian, an indoor cat, a bath. After she was cleaned, i brushed and dried her off a little bit then sent her off to finish drying herself naturally like every time she gets a bath. However the result this time was different. After her hour or so of hiding, she came down and was completely knotted up. Also she dragged her tail. Since then i have been brushing her frequently to try and straighten out her coat, but meanwhile her tail still drags. If you touch it she does not cry and she occasionally swipes it on the ground but never raises it. Could it be broke? Or is her fur to heavy for her?

He was hit 2 nights ago by a car, we took him to the vets where they said it could be fractured or broken, however they don't know without an x ray. I'm making my rents take him in again tomorrow morning for further action because it's really distressing him, not to mention us The tail hangs totally limp, and he couldnt move it even if he wanted to. It's completely motionless. However, he did try moving it yesterday and it twitched up a bit, so there is some movement, which was accompanied by a very loud and obviously pained meow, so there is feeling. Do you think there is any chance it could heal with time? And if there is anything we can do to help? He seems to sometimes totally forget about it, tries to jump up down from somewhere and then backs off meowing in pain. He's totally confused and freaking out and hiding from everyone, it's really upsetting, please help cSunshine The first vet said an x ray was not initially necessary, especially seeing as they're expensive as hell. Their advice was to leave it a moment for the swelling & bruising to go down and then return so they could better assess him and decide whether he needed one, but in the meantime gave us as much pain medication as we could administer. Please don't assume that it is our fault that he is suffering an x ray would not ease his pain one bit, it would only help us understand the situation faster. In the second visit the vet told us there are no breaks, and that despite the initial limpness there is actually a lot of hope for his tail, and he is hurting a lot less now Thanks everyone else < 3
My cats tail has to be partially amputated?
My cat chases and attacks his tail. Last night he tore it open pretty bad and the vet is going to cut the end of his tail off. Will this throw off his balance? Will he act the same way after the surgery, or have a different demeanor?
My cats tail stopped moving?
My cat does go outside in the daytime and comes in at dusk and stays in until light again.He never meows and Im just thinking that when I picked him up to come in for the night he did meow but I just thought he didnt want to come inside yet.Its a little swollen at the base of the tail on his back but not nothing thats really big to make me freak out and not really noticable at all.I see him all the time and at lunch he was in and all was well.Ive tryed to get him to move it just a little by playing with the end and watching him around the house for the last five hours and no movement at all.When I touch the base he meows but not like a mean meow but enough to let me know it hurts a little but not the tail itself.And Ive squeezed his tail and he dont do nothing.If was bruised really bad would he just not move it at all?.If it is broken it want kill him till it gets tooken off will it?Which Ill be at vet first thing when they open.Help please
I accidentely stepped on my cats tail?
I was on my bed and got off and it was all dark and i stepped on his tail He ran away fast, and I immediately felt realllly sorry. I ran after him and let him sniff me because he loves sniffing me, and then I went off, came back feeling a lot more sorry, and he started sniffing me and running around me, I walked off after and he followed me, and hes just sitting around me and snifffing me I keep patting him. Does he just want me to not step on his tail again, does he like my new smell i just came bcak from swimming , is he trying to tell me that it hurts, etc ??What should I do?It was dark and I had no idea he was right next to my bed.So it was on accident, I feel sooo sorry.
