Boarding or cat sitters?
I know this has been asked before, but I need personalized advice.We normally have my MIL take care of our 2 cats when we are on vaca, but she's turned into a bruja and I doubt fences will be mended before we leave. So our choices are having a stranger stop in twice per day to feed, water and scoop, or send the girls to a boarding house. We don't know anyone else who would be willing to do this for us, so it'll have to be a pet sitting service.My vet offers a decent looking boarding service animaldoctormuskego.com click on the Feline Bed & Breakfast link.I know there are good arguments for both options. Going to Oz on WHV, anyone know of 'cat sitters' in UK?...?
My bf and I are planning to go to Oz with a WHV probably for 1 year. We have 2 cats and definately dont want to give them up Does anyone know of anywhere in the UK PREF SOUTH EAST that has a cat sitting service? i dont mean a cattery Would we be able to literally pay someone to look after them in their home?Ultimately if we like it over in Oz then we would like to stay and bring our cats with us.
Long term cat sitters?
Going overseas for a couple of years soon... but im the mother of two very beautiful cats. I hate the idea of putting them up for adoption, but if I cant find anyone to look after them, that will have to be the case. Does anyone know of places that will look after your pets long term while you are away, so you can pick them up when you return? Long shot I know, but any advice would be helpful

I am an avid lover of cats and have three of my own. In this dour economy I am trying to develop a business model and market myself, grassroots, store to store, coffee shop to coffee shop. I can offer verifiable testimonies, pictures and references, and were a person to meet me I am positive that they would feel comfortable. Any feedback would be appreciated.
What should I pay my cat sitter?
I used to babysit them and occasionally watch their pets 2 dogs,cat, rabbit, hamster, turtles, fish etc and charged them about 22 a day for the petsI have 3 cats and she has to clean litter boxes every two days, come twice a day, and bring in the mail.I was thinking of paying $ 15 a day, she is 13. so that seems pretty fair. im 21 and charge about 25 a day . is that enough? I feel bad giving her less than what I charged them but I have less pets, 10 plus years of experience and so on.2 hours ago 4 days left to answer. How would you approach a situation where your trusted cat sitter failed to check up on your cats?
Granted I was only gone for 2 days and 2 nights, but when I got home on Sunday, the cans of wet food I set aside for the cat sitter where still on top of the table and unopended. I have three litter boxes for three cats and could also tell they havent been scooped. How would approach this situation? I told his wife and him twice that i was leaving for the weekend and needed him to come by one day to do the usual he knows the routine but he totally just didnt come through for me. I left enough water and dry food to last about 4 5 days just in case of something like this would happenend, but im still a little upset. This person is also a good friend of mine and I check up on his cats when he is away all the time. We dont pay each other anything, its more of a mutual agreement. Would you just let it go? or would you say something to them? I guess whats more upsetting is that I have back up people that could have came by if he would have told me he couldnt make it.Also, my closest friend a different person and neighbor is has been 100% reliable, but unfortunatly he is allergic to cats, but has never missed a day leaving food outside for the TNR'd feral cats I caretake for.so at least the outside feral cats got thier daily fresh wet and dry foods
How can I find a responsible cat sitter in Las Vegas?
I would like to find a cat sitter in Las Vegas but there are so many scams out there I'm worried. People go as far as to make up references So who can you trust?I have 2 cats and really don't want to take them to a " pet hotel." They will just stick them in a wire cage for a week. Plus, my one cat is very sensitive and will get sick when he's freaked out.I'm worried I will hire someone and come home to an empty house.
Cat Food/Water Consumption - Did cat sitter ever come?
Hi. I hired a pet sitter to come every other day while I was out of town. When I arrived home, there were signs of neglect and I'd appreciate people's opinion. First I left each of my two cats their own individual set of food and water. Each cat had 1 full cereal bowl of food and two full cereal bowls of water. note not small cat bowls, but human cereal bowls All of these were empty when I came back after a week. The sitter claims that the cats each consumed all their bowls of food and water every time she came every 48hrs . Is it possible for a cat age 1 and age 5 to eat a full large cereal bowl of food and drink two full large cereal bowls of water every 48hrs? I typically feel my cats 3 4 1cup of dry food each day. Please help me determine if my cat sitter really did her job. Thanks
Cat question about a cat sitter?
Okay. . . I am thinking about going away for about a month this comming year, it's for a project I'm doing with my friends. But my problem is my one cat has never spent more then a weekend with out me, and my other two get upset when I dont sleep upstairs with them to the point all three of them end up crying loudly and tearing the upstairs apart. I don't know if they miss me or just miss having a human around to give them attention.So my question is, what should I do about them? I don't want them to tear everything up and keep my parents awake with their screeching. Should I think about moving them some where else the one has never been out side my house since I got her . Or should I have my brother or his kids, or anyone come by time to time to spend the night time with them? I don't want them to become anti social with humans and be scared of humans.Any suggestions will help.Thanks.Oh btw, my parents work 8 hours a day and have their own things to do, we live on a farm so it's not like they can go up stairs to just sit with the cats. How much should I pay for a house-sitter/ cat-sitter for 12 days?
The person I have in mind to do this is my cleaning lady who is already familiar with my two cats and my home. She would live at my house, be able to work at other homes during the day, feed the cats twice daily, and clean the litter box twice daily.
