Why is my cat shedding this black ashy stuff?
I dont think my cat has fleas because she does not itch much and i'd think that i might have bites too cause i sleep with her but when she does itch this blackish brownish ashy flaky stuff comes off her. what is it? will my cat get hurt? will i get affected? and how do i get rid of it? please reply asap btw ahe only sheds when she scratches around her ear and i checked for fleas but i dont see anything

Ok, so my mom is alergic to cats and she said shes gona remove it becase it sheds alot and no im not gonna shave it . and yes shes skinnny but now shes getting a little fatter so what can i do to stop the shedding ?
Why is my cat shedding so much fur?
I know it's normal for cats to shed fur all the time and that it's a part of their daily lives.However, my cat seems to be shedding more fur than is normal. When I hold her or when she sits anywhere, that area is immediately covered in tons of fur. It's like a whole new carpet. She's a short hair, has been to the vet, has had her shots, and is pretty happy.She's an indoor outdoor cat.Grooming hasn't really helped. We've tried the brushing and even tape she likes it to get excess hair off of her, but nothing seems to work. We've tried changing her food to see if that's what's causing the problem. Again, no results. I know people that have a long hair that barely sheds anything. I've also taken care of other cats that shed a VERY normal amount of hair per day.Please don't give me answers like " all cats shed fur it's a part of their lives" . I know that. I just really need to know why my cat is shedding an amount of fur that is clearly above normal. There is fur all over the house and it's flying through the air. When we first got her, she didn't have this problem.Please help me with this. Is there any way I can solve this without having to take her to the vet? I don't have a problem with that, it's just that I really want to know if anyone else has been through this or if they have any idea what may be wrong with her .Thank you and I appreciate good answers in advance.
Why is my cat shedding so much?
I have 2 female cats and 2 male cats which my one female cat and my one male cat hasnt been fixed. I have this feeling that my female cat is prego but im not for sure. I have walked in on them two a couple of times. Now she kinda looks like shes put on a couple of pounds but Im not to sure. Lately she has been shedding alot more than usual and Im not to sure if this is one sign of pregnancy. She usually weighs about 5 pounds or so. Yeah she is a tiny cat but she is full grown and shes about 3 years old or so. I can see her nipples but they havent changed colors that Im aware of. She kinda hides a little bit more but she still does come out and wants her loving. Ive never had a cat that was pregnant. I would say that she was in heat about 3 weeks ago. Can you help me?
Ways to control cat shedding?
I thought I'd found the perfect cat at the shelter. He responded to me so well. He just lolled on my lap while I petted him. Then, I pick him up to go back in his cage and my black pants have turned white He's got that thick fluffy fur. I have to get the right cat, because I won't take him back once I've made him part of my home. I have a job that requires wearing a dark suit, but this cat left behind far too much hair to be cleaned up by a roller. I want to say he was just stressed out, a professional groomer can help reduce his shedding, he hasn't been brushed in a while, etc. I've heard of grooming methods that can dramatically reduce shedding. Am I just kidding myself?

my male cat almost a year old now will never stop shedding this is the same throughout both winter and summer. i mean if you just pet him or he lay on something there will be fur everywhere he has no bald spots, he is also a short haired cat. Well i need to do something fast because my mom is really getting sick of all the fur and i really don't want her to give him away or something so all help is appreciated. oh i almost forgot i read somewhere that bathing your cat every once in awhile and washing it with some olive oil also helps reduce the shedding is that true?

Cats shedding excessively?
My two cats both adopted from shelters get along mostly fine, but both shed so much that I'm constantly picking up little bits of cat hair. I fed them Iams until one of them rebelled and I fed her baked chicken legs until I finally found something she would eat dry Friskies. Is there something I can add to their diet to alleviate the shedding? Thanks for your help.
Do Devon/ Cornish Rex cats shed a lot?
I'm thinking of getting a Devon Cornish Rex cat BUT I want little to no hair in the house. I want a cat like a yorkshire terrier in the house. I mean 1 strand of hair on a sofa I do want a cat with hair though. So FOR CORNISH DEVON REX owners... How often do you find hair in your house? Do you find a couple of strands of hair on your furniture?And how often do you groom your Cornish Devon Rex?

Why do my bengal cats shed so much?!?
OMG I love my two bengal cats Asia and BoiKat but I hate that their fur is EVERYWHERE I even brush them with this $30 brush that I purchased from " Pet Smart" . It takes out all the " down" feeling fur from under their coat. Do they need some special oil or something? They've been shedding for the past three years when they were given to me. I got them off Iam's and started feeding them " Before Grain" Salmon dry food and feed them a can of meat once a day. I haven't bathed them recently, but I wish I could bath them EVERYDAY. How can I keep them from shedding so much? Just for anyone whose reading this...on a side note...they don't really purr that much, but they LOVE to cuddle and they sit and watch you bathe. They also act much more like dogs than cats. They greet you at the door and role over so you can rub their bellies. I'm a proud " mama" , so I had to brag. LOL. My two cats have been shedding like crazy lately. It is already well into the summer even though the weather has been up and down, rain and shine lately . The cats should have shed off their winter coats a long time ago. I cannot stand heat so I turn on the AC whenever I sleep. So, I was wondering.. does AC affect their shedding?
Do Ragdoll cats shed alot?
I really want a cat, and I've been doing researching and the cat that sounds perfect for me is the Ragdoll cat. All the websites I've looked on have said that these particular type of cats shed less than most cats. So I was wondering if there are any Ragdoll owners out there that can tell me approximately how much they shed. for example, when they rub up against your leg, do they leave a layer of hair on your pants? Or when they lay down, do they leave a lot of hair behind. The reason I'm asking is that we used to have a tabby cat, and my dad hated all the hair that was floating around in the air.
