Cat Fleas. Is there an essential oil suitable for killing cat fleas?
Our rescue cat has been rehomed as it made us ill allergies . It came to us with fleas which we thought we'd eradicated but it must have left some behind in the carpet etc. We are being bitten and do not wish to use flea powders and similar products because family members have had a problem with these allergies again in the past. Does anyone here on Y.A. know of a more natural but effective way of getting rid of them such as essential oils either neat or in a spray perhaps. If so, which oil would be the most effective?Most who have attempted to answer this question seem to have misunderstood what I asked.The cat has gone re homed because it made us ill. It is the fleas which are now in the house that I wish to eradicate. Using products which could harm a cat will be fine because the cat is no longer with us just the fleas. I want something to kill fleas a natural product preferably because some of the others might harm the human occupants because of allergies suffered by the members of the family. The cat has been gone a month now but there are still many fleas biting human occupants and the bites become infected.If anyone has an answer to the actual question I would be grateful to hear what it is.

I flead all three of my cats on the 22nd Sept and it didn't seem to work at all as they still have them It was Bob Martin I think so should of worked, I am getting at my wits end now as they are all over the house but I can't do nothing about it for another week as you can't apply anymore flea stuff to cats apparently until a month after the last dose, what can I do? I've hoovered, sprayed the house, put salt down but if the cats have them still they are just going to keep coming back I'm being bit like crazy and I'm starting to loose my mind, can't sleep at night either through itching....HELP Thanks everyone Have been and got some better recommended products for the cats and house, put the treatment on the cats last night and treated the house also yesterday and haven't seen many fleas at all 1 or 2 at most the ones I have seen weren't looking happy at all so it must be working yay

My cat has a lot of fleas around her head and nowhere else. I can't tell at least... and yesterday her hair looked really weird. from her head it was all hard but the rest of her body was really soft. Anyway, I was laying down, casually itching my head when one of her fleas came out of my hair.... Do you think I have more? Im asking on behalf of my friend as she has no idea how to use computers, My friend has 2 cats a male and a female, and when you go into her house fleas keep jumping on us that are obiously from her cats She givin the cats a flea collar each, given them a flea tablet and spreyed them with flea spey thats safe to use on animals, she even treated her house by using flea bombs and flea floggers and flea house hold sprey but there still there why arent they working? is there anything else she can try that will get rid of them She is upset because i have stopped going over to her house as i dont want to trail them back to my own house and she is at her witts end with them She has a son and she leeps finding them in his hair and she swears she can feel them in hers aswell ? Ive told her she should rehome her cats cause it isnt good for her son to have them in his hair but she wont get rid of them. what else can she try REAL ANSWERS PLEASE IM SCARED FOR HER LITTLE BOY PLEASE HELP And why do fleas bite humans aswell as animals? i have 2 cats 19 yrs old they dont go out of garden now but are riddled with fleas,going to get flea killer today but thought fleas were only around in hot weather,where do they come from when they dont go out and can they get them from dogs as my mate brings his dog here sometimes that he walks in forest? thank you

I noticed on Friday my cats were twitchy so I checked them out, I found small amounts of black brown bits on them so figured they hadnt long caught fleas Ive had a good good look and found 1 flea so far I went and got some frontline spot on yesterday and administered it to them but this morning I noticed a brown mark on my cats face, I started to get it off her as I thought it was a flea but it was more like a worm, wriggling about like it was trying to burrow into her face??? My cats fleas will not go away?
I have 3 cats and in the last month and a half I have treated them with both advantage 2 and frontline plus I also bombed the house. I got them from petmeds although I don't think that matters much. One of our cats goes out side all the time. Not by choice she is just a good escape artist. I've also bathed them in flea shampoo as well as dawn dish soap. So far nothing is working and we are finding fleas jumping on us even after bombing the house, washing everything, and vacuming. The fleas didn't start until about 2 months ago before then we were flea free. Any tips to get rid of the dang pest.
How to get rid of cats fleas, tried everything?
My cat has had the fleas since August yes I know it is disgusting and we have tried everything, flea collars, flea brushes, flea soaks, flea sprays and other things. We also deflead our house every time we cleaned him and now he is just stuck in our laundry room because we don't want him in the house for fear of fleas in the house.We don't have any more de flea " stuff" because we used everything and we can't spend any more money on it. I want to shave him, save his whiskers because I don't think we will ever truly know when he doesn't have fleas unless he has no hair.Please help we reallly love our cat but we can't keep him in the laundry room any more, or we will give him away.
