Has anyone had trouble with cat constipation after giving "greenie treats"?

Extreme cat constipation what should i do?
Is my 10 year old female tabby cat is EXTREMELY CONSTIPATED This all started about a month or two ago back then her feces were hard dark and small which i thought was normal for a cat her age. But a time went by she began to make noises of difficultly such as grunts. This made me a little suspicious so i investigated the litter box was clean and it stayed that way. I bought a laxative that was suggested by the guy at the pet store. Not only did the laxative not work but my cat did not enjoy consuming it and after she would puke it out with some stomach acid gross .But recently my cat is becoming weaker less energetic, she is losing weight she is not eating anything and still no poop She tries less too . The only thing she does all day is rest. and when i apply pressure to her hip below the spine i feel what i assume is her small intestine and it feels inflated and rock hard. This is about all the info i can provide for u i have finally convinced my parents to take her to see a vet but for the time being what should i do?Please share your ideas and experiences if u can any comments and help would be very appreciated. ' help please...

Are there any foods that can give a cat constipation?
My cat has diarrhea, poor little thing. The medicines and prescription diets I have gotten from the vet have not helped. I am wondering if there is any food out there that can give a cat constipation. I have tried all the high fiber cat foods and they are of no use. This may just be a permanent thing that the little guy will have to suffer with for his entire life. However, I have been thinking about mixing other foods in with his cat food that may assist in solidifying his fecal matter. Sort of like what dairy products do for humans. I also don't want to kill or even harm my cat in any way. All the vet will tell me is to keep trying different medicine because that is what puts money in her pocket. Does anyone have any ideas? Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Real help needed! question on cat constipation and others related! cat spraying?
I'm really torn here...OK so I believe my cat is constipated. Its been over 24 hours, and he sits on the literbox from 15 30 minutes and nothing probably every hour. He also meows if you push on certain spots of his stomach which for him is abnormal. Now after a while it seems he's trying to go everywhere he stands but nothing. Now here's the thing He's peeing everywhere I don't know if he's just pushing and accidently peeing or if ironically he is starting to spray the day he is constipated. I can't tell But its alot of pee and in large amounts usually. He is not dehydrated and is eating. I want to take him to the vet tomorrow but you know the vet charges you just to walk into the door led alone any check ups or treatment. I don't know what to do I'm not aloud to keep a cat who sprays He's only 2 years old and got neutered at 8 months What to do about the constipation ? ?

What are good cheap ways to treat cat constipation?
Since noon yesterday, my male cat has been acting strange. While I was at my desk, I noticed him start to 'dig' on top of my bed. I picked him up and took him to his litter box and placed him in it, thinking he was just acting up. He sat in the box for a minute and then jumped out, nothing. After that, I found him squatting on the couch also, but he didn't produce anything. While on the couch he refused to move, was locked in a squat, and was meowing a little miserably. At this point I realized he was probably cramping and constipated.I made sure there was clean, fresh water for him in his water fountain and that the litter box was clean. Throughout the evening he would go into the litter box, squat, stay there up to about five minutes, and then jump out again without producing anything. He was meowing pretty miserably intermittently also. I fed him the vegetable oil that I drained from a can of tuna and mixed it with a small amount of benefiber guar gum which he ate, but seemed mostly disinterested. Later in the evening I found him squatting in the laundry room, and this time I saw a little bit of watery looking blood on the ground. I can't tell if it's coming from his rectum or urinary tract. It was pink and very watery. I'm not sure it could have come from his butt. This morning I woke up with him lying on his side next to me in bed, and he was meowing very deep and almost growling. It took me awhile to wake up fully and realize it was him. I keep my phone next to me because it's my alarm so I shot a video of him in case I need to show it to a vet. I uploaded it to youtube. It's here youtube.com watch?v sROBAHrheVk At the end of the video, when he jumped off the bed, he hissed, but Oni never hisses. You may not be able to hear it. I followed him when he jumped off the bed. He walked very, VERY slowly to the litter box making miserable sounds the entire way. When he got there, he actually did defecate, but it was a squishy sounding poo and turned out to be a lot like mud. I didn't see any blood in it. There was probably... I don't know, about three tablespoon of poop? I went to PetSmart and bought some Blue Buffalo cat food which I was told had a lot of good nutrients and natural fibers in it. I haven't given him any yet. I also bought some Hairball Remedy gel which he did lick off of my fingers but I had to reach pretty far under the bed to give it to him. He's been there ever since I got back from the store and won't come out. I tried popping a can of the wet food I sometimes give him which has always caused him to come running and nothing. I laid down next to the bed and called him gently for about 10 minutes, but he's not happy, and not coming out.I have no money to take him to the vet. I used the last 20 bucks I had at PetSmart. I don't know what to do and I'm not sure that this is just going to pass. I've looked at a lot of websites and read a couple books while I was at PetSmart. It seems like constipation is fairly common in cats, just as it is in humans? and may pass on it's own... but then again, he seems extremely uncomfortable and it's going past 24 hours now that he's been like this. I know that the first thing I should do to be safe is to have a vet check him out, but I simply can't afford it. It's not an option. Does anyone have any vet knowledge? Any tips? Any advice or information that I might not have stumbled across so far? His litter box is clean, he has a supply of fresh, filtered water, I'm giving him hairball remedy and the vegetable oil from cans of tuna, and plan to mix in some of the new cat food I bought with wet food when and if he's prepared to eat. CAN I try to let him ride this out? What might happen if I don't take him to the vet? I'm very concerned. If worse comes to worse I might try asking people from work to loan me some money... but I don't know how well that'll go over. I feel terrible not being able to help him out.Oni is only 1 1 2 years old. He's also a shorthair and has never had a hairball to my knowledge. As far as peeing goes, I forgot to mention that when I came home from PetSmart, there was an area on the carpet with two wet spots, when I blotted the spots with white paper towels, one was larger, and quite obviously urine, the other was a few pink dots which I believe are the same watery blood I saw last night. I'm not ruling out urinary tract... but it looked like he got a sufficient amount of pee out on the carpet while straining to poop where he had been standing over the carpet. Based on this, I think the watery blood may have come from his anus? Please, if you're going to state that my cat is having an emergency, tell me why you think so. What makes you think he's " critically ill" and not just feeling like crap, which will pass? I'm going to need more information before I try to take out loans from people I hardly know. I'd laugh at some of you folks if I wasn't so bummed out ab

Cats: Constipation VS UTI?
Okay, listen here. I'm no newbie to the UTI Blockage business. Infact, we spent $3,000 on my cat's PU 5 months ago.I know that bladder infections are common in males that have the PU surgery. Now, the cat has been using the box a lot, but is not licking his privates like he normally did when he had a blockage. He is on the box in the position he usually uses for pooping, not peeing. On top of that, he usually poops every or every other day. He hasn't pooped since probably friday, and it was small in size and dry in texture. What gives? UTI or Constipation? Also, I felt for his bladder, and it's not excessively large. My parents are telling me to let him rest and wait, but I can't if it's going to destroy his kidneys Um, no. Thanks, but no thanks. Milk will cause more harm than good, considering cats are lactose intolerant... Dur.Dozens of urine samples. Yeah, looks like a UTI. Pooped a big one, but he's still using the box.He pooped again But he's tanking up on water, so that's a bad sign.

Cat constipation or something else?
For the past day, my 8 month old cat's tail has been hanging and he won't lift it. The hang kind of looks like the way a horse's tail hangs. The base of his tail sticks out slightly, but the rest just hangs behind him.Is a hanging tail a symptom of constipation? I have three other cats, so I haven't been able to tell if he has not been pooping. His tail doesn't feel broken, he does occasionally move it. He doesn't seem to be in any pain. He is eating and drinking normally.

Cat Constipation?
Okay, my cat is struggling in his litter box, 2 years ago he had a kidney stone but he got it removed. We thought it was another kidney stone but he took a pretty big pee, but he is still struggling. Since he took a pee, we think he is constipated, so how do you fix cat constipation? No body say take him to A VET That is the laziest answer and right now money is tight.1 and second answer are good, i guess i'll try those. thank you guys for not saying take him to the vet. I mean honestly, A 4 year old could come with that answer.

What can I do to help my cats constipation?
She only eats dry food, doesnt like wet food and only licks it, drinks water normally, but when i clean her litterbox her poo is really hard? Help

What can I do to help my cats constipation?
I have a cat that is continually constipated to the tune of enemas frequently. This is very uncomfortable for the cat and expensive for me. We have looked into food allergies and he has a slightly mishapened pelvis from birth. He is currently taking RX laxative and Miralax in everything. I have tried milk for a few days knowing that gives most pets the runs... Nothing. Suggestions? I just changed foods to a hypo allergenic one and I'm thinking of adding pumpkin.

Cat constipation -- foods that help?
My cat has had problems with constipation off and on throughout her life. We've seen the vet about this, when it gets particularly bad. Often, our cat will need an enema, because things get too " firm" inside her. She hates that, and we hate having to put her through it and also having to pay for it .Our vet has told us to give her a little MiraLax 1 8 tsp in her wet food every few days, just to keep her stool soft and moving. Generally, that works fine, but over the last couple of days, that hasn't been doing the trick.I'm wondering if anyone knows any other foods that act as a laxative...something we can buy at a pet store, rather than the vet's office. Without being gross, we all know that there are certain foods that just go right through us, as people. Do you know any similar foods for cats? We probably will take her to the vet if she doesn't have a bowel movement in the next couple of days...but we're just trying to find a way to avoid that expense, if possible .Thanks for any advice Thanks for the replies I appreciate your thought. I think I'm going to just take her to the vet, though. She has been tested previously for mega colon, and that came up negative, so that's good. And prior to the miralax, she was actually on lactulose, but the vet switched her over. Maybe we'll have to go back. Thanks again, everybody.

Help with my cat, constipation?
My cat keeps trying to go in the litter box, but he isn't actually producing any stool. I noticed it last night. So, this morning, my husband isolated him from the other cats and when I got home, there was pee in the box, but no poop. And he's still doing it. He gets in the box, hunches his back like he's going to poop, but he doesn't.He looks really frustrated. How long before he doesn't poop until I should take him to the vet?Is there something else I can try to get him to poop? I've tried oil, but it hasn't worked so for. Also, other than this one thing, he's acting completely normal.I do want to note that this particular cat will NOT eat wet food. I've tried and tried, but to no avail. He won't eat anything but dry food. No chicken, tuna...nothing.He pooped
