Burmese cats burmese cats rule ...agree?

Can burmese cats be leash trained?

Does Anyone have a Cream Burmese Cat or Just a Burmese Cat?
I have just taken in a little male, cream kitten which wandered into my cousins garage about a month and a half ago. The vet said he was about 4 weeks, possibly 5 weeks when we took him to the vet a few days after I took him in. As time has gone on, he has developed some ginger striped on his tails and legs, ginger markings on his forehead and just generally a more gingery tinge to his coat. My mother who has had previous burmese cats says he looks a lot like a burmese cat and after looking at cream burmese cats on the internet we are almost positive he is a burmese. He has the same body shape, facial features and characteristics as a burmese. Although we are not sure. Does anyone have a cream burmese cat? Does he sound similar to my kitten? Does it have gold eyes? We would love his eyes to turn gold, we think he is developing more golden speckles on his eyes and a gold ring around his pupil. Would really like some answers from those who have cream burmese cats or even just burmese cats Thanks.

Burmese cat breeders in Essex?
We have two burmese cats already and are looking for another one. If you know anyone who breeds burmese cats in Essex or near Essex please could you give us the name of them or website. If the breeder has a lilac burmese that would be even better. Thanks

Will a Siberian Husky and a German Sheperd get along with Burmese cats?
An odd question, but... I adore Siberian Huskies and German Shepherds, and I plan to adopt them as puppies they'll most likely be males eventually. Unfortunately, I have two burmese cats both male and one of them is as young as eight months, while the other is five years. Not really sure if the breed of cat matters, but would a husky and a german Shepherd be able to get along with them and vice verse? . I know that Huskies generally have an 'dominant alpha' attitude, and I'm worried that all my male pets with clash for dominance of the household sOn another note, would the Husky and German Shepherd get along? Sorry for all the questions, but some personal feedback would be nice instead of a breeder telling me I'm stupid for wanting such lovely animals in my life l

My Burmese cat is so fussy about what she eats?
I know this sounds really stupid but my cat acts like a anorexic. She eats, but she's very picky about what she eats. She's seems to be a healthy weight and she seems very happy. She's 3 years old. When we give our other 4 cats treats like a bit of leftover chicken from the sunday roast she refuses to eat it unless I sit with her and cut it up into tiny tiny pieces and then I have to hold it to her mouth and she'll eat it. I'm not force feeding her though, it may sound like it, but I wait for her to eat it, however if it's not cut up really small she won't eat it. We thought maybe she had sensitive teeth or something, but the vet says she is fine. She won't eat the same cat food as the other cats and we have to make sure we give her a fish catfood. We've also tried the 'she'll eat when she's hungry' thing, but she wont. Can anyone tell me why my cat is such a fussy eater? I really have no idea, we give her plenty of attention. I have 1 idea that maybe it's because she wants to be able to go outside, but I can't let her out as she is my mums cat and she doesn't want her to get lost. However we do take her out once a day for a few hours and she runs around the garden. Also I think it could be because we put her in a cattery a few years ago and she ate nothing all week I think she was scared and missed us, but she was with the other cat. Since then she's been like this.

Does anyone else own a Burmese cat?
I'd love to hear from other Burmese cat owners.I have two, a chocolate girl and her half brother is Lilac, born 5 days apart 7 yrs ago. They were de sexed at 5 months. They have the sweetest and very affectionate natures making us laugh everyday with their antics. The girl is very vocal,,just talks all the time, can be demanding, the boy is quieter, but when he wants something will not leave us alone. They get on very well, sleeping and playing together but he does sometimes show his male dominance by attacking her and pinning her down, she gets him back though. They don't hurt each. They are also very generous, they let my husband and I sleep in their bed. They get down under the covers.LOL.Mine are called Candy and Minty.I forgot to say how Minty the male loves to help make the bed.I don't think it matters if someone else asked the same question, this is my question,I just wanted to know if other people enjoy their Burmese as much as I enjoy mine.Maybe they are rare in the US,but where I am in NSW Australia they are not so rare.I know of at least a dozen in the small town that I live in alone. There are quite a lot of breeders all over the country.A Burmese could be a stray as they are very people orientated,so if one " got out" it could roam to find another person, that is also why they don't make good outdoor cats.I did put up the same type of question a couple of days ago but deleted it as I wanted to change it.I've been to a few shows with lots of Burmese in them.Yes, their coats are beautiful, they are referred to as bricks wrapped in silk as they can be quite heavy, yet don't look it.

Are Burmese cats really as social as the claims?
I've never owned a cat, but my daughters really want one. I've been researching the breeds and it sounds like a Burmese would fit in nicely with our family. I don't know anyone who owns one. I just wanted to hear some personal experiences, as I've already read a lot about them. Thanks.

Why is my Burmese cat not pregnant?
I have a pedigree cat who is in season regularly, but 3 times she has failed to get pregnant. The first 2 occasions were with the same stud boy, and we put it down to being a bad combination. She showed no signs of pregnancy and went straight back into call a few days later.More recently, she went to a stud boy 9 weeks and 2 days ago when she was in season, mated with him and returned home. Her nipples haven't pinked, and her stomach hasn't swollen, but she has stopped calling completely and for a while was sleeping all day and all night, and seeming to want to eat more frequently.she should have had kittens a few days ago, if she'd been pregnant. My question is, why, when cats are so very fertile, is she not getting pregnant, and why has she suddenly stopped calling following this recent mating?oh and she's 5.5 years old. Thanks in advance Edited to add that the first 2 occasions that she went to stud, she was just 3 years old. My own pregnancy with my youngest son put further stud visits on hold he's now 1, so we felt now was a good time to try again
